How to Write an Essay on the Topic Globalisation

How to Write an Essay on the Topic GlobalisationIt's hard to write an essay on the topic globalisation. Globalisation is a fact, and it has caused a lot of angst. I know that because, once upon a time, I worked as a general consultant for a firm in New York City, where I had been asked to do a report on globalisation. There are many people who still think of globalisation as a bad thing. In particular, a common complaint among them is that globalisation is a synonym for 'industrialisation'. This is simply not true. Indeed, I have heard it said that the modern world is about to enter a period of globalisation that will not be very different from the earlier one.In the earlier days of globalisation, there was a massive increase in trade, there were a number of technological innovations, and there was a high level of social development. This means that globalisation could in principle result in all the benefits that those who now claim that it is harmful are concerned about. Indeed, the benefits of globalisation can be summed up in just one word: job security.Indeed, if you think about it, if you lived in countries such as China, India or Brazil, and if your life depended upon being employed, then it makes sense that you would like to move to a country such as the United States of America, where the chances of being employed are far greater than they were before. This is not to say that the job market will always be able to give people a good standard of living, but for the lucky few, the rewards of globalisation are going to provide them with a nice living. However, a large number of people are very unhappy about globalisation, and the reasons for this are different. For example, they complain that globalisation has resulted in them losing their jobs, and they blame technological change.Globalisation has provided jobs, in the sense that there are more people who are employed in countries that were previously middle-income countries. Indeed, those people who are emp loyed now are usually far better off than people who were employed before globalisation. The only people who are disadvantaged by globalisation are those people who are employed in low-wage occupations. You may have noticed that the process of industrial revolution is still ongoing, even if the invention of electricity and the great leap forward is over. Although technology is changing rapidly, the process of industrial revolution is not, and there are many jobs for people who have studied maths, science and engineering. The great advantage of globalisation is that the outcome is very positive. In fact, some people would argue that it is the greatest thing to happen to mankind.
